HCG – Day 4

OMG, I am so hungry eating cottage cheese only the whole day sucks. There is no way I am going to bed with a headache from hunger.

 I decided to eat some spicy cucumbers & drink some green tea. I am sure if the medical assistant reads my blog she will be so mad. She specifically said please follow the plan to the “t”!

Seriously, how do they expect me to go from eating 5 delightful meals a day to eating only cottage cheese that I hate? I have two more days of cottage cheese torture before I hit the green veggies torture.

Can someone help me with a list of green veggies that are irresistible?

HCG – Days 1-3

Very nervous and with sweaty palms I administered my first shot on Saturday morning at about 7:15 a.m. – Side effects none so far, which is great.

Late Saturday night I noticed that I bruised right by the spot where I administered the shot. I was not thrilled; however I decided to continue with the trial.

On day two I once again gave my self the shot on the other side of my stomach hoping not to bruise. I was a gentle, and avoided squeezing my skin tight. I think I am adapting to the shots for now.  I did the same on day three.

Good thing I haven’t bruised again. For the past three days I have been able to eat regularly. Tomorrow is when the torture will begin – Cottage Cheese!

Starting the HCG Diet

Tomorrow is the grand day, the start of my HCG diet program. I already found a few things that I don’t like about the diet.

  1. That I have to inject my self every morning
  2. That on the 4-6 day I can only eat Cottage Cheese
  3. That on the 7-10 day I can only eat green veggies
  4. That the shots make you more fertile.
(Why hire a fertility doctor when you can just lose weight and be more fertile using HCG?)


Today was my 1st appointment at the Doctor’s Office. I was measured & weighed. I am still weighing the same as I did March 1, 2011 when I started my blog. (179 pounds)

They provided me with 7 shots of HCG & administered a shot of B12 with amino acids. I shall start the first of seven shots tomorrow in the morning before breakfast.  For the next 3 days I am allowed to eat regular meals. One more thing NO alcohol !

Days 15-19

A lot has happen thru out these days. I cheated on the 16th day eating fair food. (Ex: elephant ear, corn, loaded French fries with chicken tenders, lots of Pepsi and ribs)

On the 18th day which was Saturday I went to the Seminar about the HCG diet. At the seminar they discussed side affects, and the procedure. I got a great deal for a 30 day supply so, I think it’s a must try. My only concern is that I would have to inject my self every morning for 30 days. Apparently, this is the most effect way. I shall keep you updated once I start the procedure.

Last night (19th day) I had a great meal. All home made with help from my wonderful husband. We had Spicy Cucumbers, Potatoe Salad, Kebab (b.k.a: Carne al pincho) and Fruit Salad for desert.

I am not one to like Cucumbers but I found this refreshing recipe at Momma Jenny’s Kitchen (a blog I follow).

By the way I canceled Shape Lovers Lunches because it was getting expensive. I decided to try to make my own meals lets see how this week is going to work out for me.

Day 14 - Tuesday 3/15/11

Today, I realized that I don't over eat. I have been eating every 3-4 hours. I start off really hungry, so I order a huge breakfast but I only nibble on the food. Three bites down and I am full.

Then, I am hungry again in 2-4 hours so I either snack on something or I hold it off till Lunch time. If I am eating every 3-4 hours then why am I challenging the weight. (It won't come off)

Most of you are saying "Your eating the wrong foods"!

Day 10. 11. 12. & 13

Everyday has been a challenge. Specially, Saturday & Sunday! Being home all day anxiety kicks in and it can be a disaster. Why is it so difficulty to defeat weight?

I am looking into the HCG Diet. Its said to decrease appetite and burn stored unnecessary fat. I originally wanted to make it threw this challenge with out the use of any drugs or supplements. But, I find my self to be super hungry during the day causing me to find a quick fix.

My current plan is to give HCG a 30 day trial and within the 30 days learn to purchase healthy snacks, pack a lunch & cook a healthy dinner.  Hopefully, this will help me consume less unhealthy calories & build energy to exercise after long days of work.

I shall give it a try and keep you updated on my personal experience. By the way I am still reading the book and it clearly states to diet the natural way but I need a boost!

Naughty Day 9

I took the day off from work to run several errands & get a massage. The plan caused me to disregard  my meal schedule. The meals today looked like this :

9: 00 a.m.- Breakfast at The Original Pancake House I had coffee with 1.5 of a banana brown sugar french toast.

4:45 p.m. - Lunch/Dinner at Hooters. Shared a pitcher of beer with the hubby, also had 3 hot wings, 5 medium shrimp and some cheese fries.

If I would have been doing the weight watchers diet I think I would have scored pretty good on points. I do feel a little guilty for not having a healthy choice every 3-4 hours. After all the day out with the hubby was GREAT!

Day 6, 7, 8

The last 3 days have been very busy for me between work, chores and every other duty that surrounds me. I haven't had time to update you. Considering my busy schedule I think I have been doing really good when it comes to my food selections.

Breakfast hasn't been as big as I would like it to be, Lunch is always healthy and a surprise, and for Dinner I've been trying my best to schedule it before 6:30 p.m. limiting carbs.

I was able to read another chapter of my book. So far I think it is leading me in the right direction. I also, learned that my BMI is 31 which states that I am obese for my height & weight.

Day 4 & 5

It's the weekend days!
The hardest days to try to accomplish a healthy meal. However, I think I found ways to a healther choice.

On Saturday I had lunch at Chilis with my daughter (2x20 deal). I decided on the Chicken Margarita. Could I go wrong with Chicken on a bed of Rice with Beans?  By the way it had lots of flavor and turned out to be a better choice.

Dinner was not a complete disaster but close to it. I had 1 mini buffalo chicken sandwich, 1 potatoe skin, and picked on Nachos & Cheese while I drank a beer. Also, realized that my greatest weakness is sugar! I seriously have to find a way to stay far from sweets.

Sunday we had brunch and I selected to have salad, turkey, meats and a spoon of mash potatoes. Not bad, I think. Dinner was not to bad either expect for the fried rice.

I was able to read one more chapter of " The 4 day diet" Sunday night. I shall update you on the book in my next blog.

Day 3

Happy Friday  - No headache today, yay me!
I got a chance to speed walk at the mall today. Made a quick stop at Borders, where I drove myself crazy going threw way to many books on dieting and healthy eating. I purchased a book by Dr. Ian K. Smith called “The 4 day diet”- Be thinner by Friday. I shall start to read tonight. By the way it’s Friday if those 4 words where magical I would be thin today…


Todays Menu
Breakfast: Omelet with sweet plantains & café con leche.
Lunch: Tilapia, Sweet Potatoes, Onion Soup and a guava cheese cake.
Dinner: Planning on having cereal and milk.

Day 2

What a horrible morning I had. Woke up with a large headache, had a desk full of papers to push.
Breakfast - Was weak only had a small coffee.
Lunch - Was healthy and quick thanks to Shape Lovers
Dinner - Way better then yesterday. The Hubster made some grilled steak that I combined with sautéed potatoes and mixed veggies.

Still no cardio was involved in my day. I didn't even walk back & forth from the reception area to my desk. I was not joking when I said I had a large headache this morning.

Day 1

First day of my mission and the out come was not good. I started off great in the a.m.
Had an omelet with cafe con leche for breakfast, a health lunch from Shape Lovers, and dinner was a disaster.

I went to Bahamas Fish Market and over saw the fact that I could have ordered broiled fish and a salad. Instead I ordered 2 conch fritters, shrimp ceviche, and a fish sandwich. Good thing is that I only ate ½ of the fish sandwich.

O yeah did I forget to mention that I did not incorporate any cardio in to my day. Other then walking back & forth from my desk to the fax machine or reception area. However, I did some reading online and looked into supplement options to assist my weight loss.


Introduction

I am a thirty one year old mother, wife and independent women tackling what all women do WEIGHT.

I currently weigh approximately 179 pounds. Being that I am only 5'4 this is considered over weight.
I have shed the pounds in the past but can't keep them off indefinitely. I am currently try to eat healthier at least one meal a day to get me started on the right track.

Today, I decided that I should document my progress if not every day at least once a week. My goal is to lose 49 pounds before February 2012.
